FOOD, our co-production with Belvoir is currently on tour for 15 weeks from July – October 2014. The touring party will visit 19 locations across the country and blogging about all things FOOD along the way. Second stop on the tour was Lismore where Fayssal Bazzi (playing Hakan in the show) was experiencing some hunger pains…
Lismore. City of lovely audiences. That’s what they should rename the place because the reception we got in the theatre AND in the streets was pretty special. The whole community got behind us and even had a pop up restaurant outside the theatre to sell food to our soon to be over stimulated fans. Being smack in the middle of fasting for Ramadan, I spent most daylight hours hidden away in my darkened room watching Japanese cartoons, emerging with the fading sun to order myself a quinoa and pumpkin salad from “Keen on Green” located on Keen st in Lismore (adding turkey breast to the healthy intake upon returning to my dwellings).
Now I’m in Penrith I’m still fasting and hungry.
This is me, in Lismore, dehydrated, coated in the rays of the earth’s sun.
