Food Tour: on the road with Chantelle Foster
FOOD, our co-production with Belvoir is currently on tour for 15 weeks from July – October 2014. The touring party will visit 19 locations across the country and blogging about all things FOOD along the way. Third stop on the tour was was Penrith where Chantelle Foster (Stage Manager) experienced life as a commuter…
After a brief intro into what life on tour would be like in Lismore, we were back in Sydney for our second Sydney venue – The Joan in Penrith.
After being a hop, skip and a jump away from the theatre in Lismore with our accommodation, the hour-long drive into Penrith from Sydney was a way to make us all emphasise with commuters.
Jack and I had the luxury of staying overnight in Penrith during the bump-in, which we took advantage of by heading to the infamous Panthers club. And we now understand why it’s infamous. With four restaurants on sight plus the bistro, a cocktail lounge, laser tag, water put put, fountains and bingo -the Panthers club had plenty to offer… except after 8.30pm on a Wednesday which was when we finished work. So we went to the Kelly’s bistro for some perfect club food and wine!
But after a week’s worth of commuting we were happy to say farewell to Penrith and head on to Orange…
